Fallacies Online is a project of Sascha Leib, aimed at compiling and making accessible all common logical, rhetorical, mathematical, statistical, psychological, and other types of fallacies.

The goal here is explicitly not to meet any formal academic requirements, but rather to find a format that is understandable even to non-experts.

The articles also strive, as much as possible, to remain politically and ideologically neutral. Examples – especially negative ones – are deliberately taken equally from all political factions.

• This project is still a work in progress and, given the sheer number of entries and the complexity of the subject matter, will likely remain so for a while. So if anything looks unfinished, needs some fine-tuning, or is perhaps even missing entirely, just check back in a few weeks.

• This is not a commercial project – that means, no user data is collected, no advertising is placed, and no revenue is generated in any other way. Perhaps the materials collected here will eventually result in one or more articles, or even a book, but all in all, this is a hobby project with no interest in making a profit.

• The articles here are not in the public domain – I’d be happy if I can inspire someone to write something of their own on a topic covered here, but I ask that you not simply reuse the texts without first asking for permission.
